Once put into use, the terminal can provide 40 aircraft parking slots.

The project also includes the construction of a 4,000 metre runway, two taxiways and other supporting facilities.

Kicked off in 2021, the VND336.63 trillion Long Thanh International Airport project is divided into three phases.

Once fully finished by 2050, the airport can serve 100 million passengers and five million tonnes of cargo annually.

Meanwhile, the project to build Terminal 3 at Tan Son Nhat International Airport has a total investment capital of VND10.99 trillion (USD470.5 million). It has been scheduled to be put into operation from the second quarter of 2025.

The new terminal will serve domestic flights, helping ease pressure on the overloaded T1 and improve service quality. It has a designed capacity of 20 million passengers per year.
