According to the drivers, they were travelling at high speed when they felt their cars wobble. Luckily they managed to stop their vehicles safely. They got off and found many big nails stuck into their tyres.

"I was driving at a speed of 80 km/h when the tyres got problems," a driver, Tran Hoang, said. "Luckily there weren’t many vehicles travelling at the time and I managed to stop my car safely at the roadside."

Local authorities said that the nails might have been scattered along the road by dog thieves while fleeing local people.
