People will have four days off for the National Day Holiday this year, from September 1-4.
The Hanoi Railway Transport Company announced on Wednesday that they would add 25 more trains between August 31 and September 4.
"Over 50,000 train tickets are available for the holiday," the company said. "Most of the added trains will be for the routes connecting Hanoi to Thanh Hoa, Vinh, Dong Hoi, Haiphong, and Lao Cai."
It is estimated that Hanoi Rail will serve over 85,000 passengers during the holiday, up 12 percent compared to the same period last year.
The company said that ticket prices would be kept unchanged. Passengers are advised to arrive at the station at least 30 minutes before departure time.
The Hanoi Bus Station Company also shared that they were planning to increase services by 640 buses at Giap Bat, Gia Lam, and My Dinh bus stations to serve increasing demand during the National Day Holiday.
"It is expected that demand will surge on some routes connecting Hanoi with Phu Tho, Quang Ninh, Nam Dinh, Thanh Hoa, Thai Binh, Lao Cai, and Son La from the afternoon of August 31 till the end of September 5," the company forecasted.
