The 23-carriage train was carrying approximately 800 tonnes of commodities, mainly metals, chemicals, and fertilizer.

It took the train more than four days to travel the 2,700 km line from Shijiazhuang to Yen Vien.

According to the Vietnamese transport ministry, the direct rail route will help businesses shorten transportation times and facilitate customs procedures.

Following an agreement signed between the Railway Transport and Trade Company and the Shijiazhuang Inland Port Company, the service will operate once a week, with the frequency adjusted based on actual demand.

Shijiazhuang is the centre of Hebei with a population of more than 11 million. It plays an important role in China’s national rail system, connecting Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei. Over the years, Shijiazhuang has become a focal point for international trains to Russia, Europe, Central Asia, Mongolia and ASEAN countries.
