According to the National Centre for Hydrometeorological Forecasting, the hot weather will continue from today, July 24, in the northern and central regions with average temperatures ranging between 35-36 degrees Celsius and even rising to 37 degrees Celsius in Hanoi.

The centre said that the hot weather will heighten in the coming days and last until July 27 when a new rainy spell arrives. Local people have been warned of possible house and forest fires.

Meanwhile, provinces from Thua Thien Hue to Binh Thuan would see average rainfall of 15-30mm, or even 60mm in some regions.

The Central Highlands and southern regions would also continue to have rains and thunderstorms in the afternoons and evenings with an average rainfall of between 50-100mm on July 24 and 25. Rain is forecasted for the next four weeks in these regions.
