The Central Highlands and the southern regions have been forecasted to face heavy rain from July 21.

According to the National Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting, the rainfall in these regions would range from 60-170mm. Low and mountainous areas have been warned of landslides and flooding due to torrential rain. Whirlwinds and hail would also occur during the rain.

On July 22, coastal areas from the southern central province of Binh Thuan to the southernmost province of Ca Mau are forecast to have strong winds and rough waves. All ships and boats in these areas have been warned of dangers.

The rainy weather would last in the Central Highlands and south for some days to come.

The National Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control has instructed concerned agencies and localities to closely follow the weather conditions in the Central Highlands and the southern regions for a timely response.
