According to the decision, the retail prices of E5 RON 92 and RON 95 rose by VND1,220 and VND1,300 per litre to VND21,630 and VND22,790 per litre respectively.
Diesel prices grew by VND890 to VND19,550 per litre and kerosene increased by VND870 to VND19,190 per litre. Meanwhile, mazut rose by VND440 to VND15,725 per kilo.
This time, the two ministries did not allocate funds to the petrol price stabilisation fund.
So far this year, Vietnam has adjusted petroleum prices 20 times, including 11 rises, seven decreases and three kept unchanged.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade reported that petroleum prices in the world market are on the rise due to the US’s lower crude oil reserves and higher Chinese imports.
Domestic petroleum prices are between 29-39 percent lower than in the first half of last year.
