STEAM for Vietnam, the American Centres in Hanoi and HCM City, and Hanoi University of Science and Technology have announced the collaborative launch of the “A Year of Robotics 2024” Programme and Vietnam VEX Robotics National Championship 2024.
STEAM for Vietnam has selected VEX IQ Robotics, the most up to date educational robotics curriculum in the US so Vietnamese students will be able to access advanced robotics education free of charge. More than 2,000 students, 500 teachers and 150 schools have the opportunity to learn and train in robotics for free through the course CS 201: Introduction to Robotics Programming with VEX IQ.
In May 2023, 19 Robotics teams from Vietnam participated in the VEX IQ category for the first time at the world's largest Robotics Championship, the VEX Robotics World Championship 2023 in Texas, USA. The Vietnam team was the 5th largest number in terms of international teams represented at the VEX Robotics World Championship and received five awards.
Following the success of the “A Year of Robotics 2023” Programme, the "A Year of Robotics 2024" programme will be organised, aiming to bring advanced robotics education to Vietnamese students completely free of charge, showcase Vietnamese talents in the international arena, and equip the local educators with comprehensive robotics knowledge.
In addition, following the success of the Robotics training program with VEX IQ for students from elementary to high school, the CS 202: Introduction to Robotics Programming with VEX V5 for high school students nationwide is planned to be held in the autumn of 2023. A total of 40 Vietnamese teams in the VIQRC and VRC categories will be selected to participate in the VEX Robotics World Championship 2024 in Texas, USA.
Vietnam VEX Robotics National Championship 2024 is an event for all students who are passionate about robotics in the country. There are no barriers of gender, ethnicity and geography to compete. The tournament is expected to attract the participation of more than 300 teams in the VIQRC category and 50 teams in the VRC category. It is expected to take place in January 2024 in Hanoi.
