Tam is being taken by his sister
Some years ago, Tram’s wife was diagnosed with the final stage of breast cancer. He tried to borrow money from different sources for her treatment, but her condition did not improve and she died, leaving three children behind, the eldest aged 11 and the youngest aged less than two.
Tam has done different kinds of jobs to support his family, however, his income is only enough to cover his children’s tuition fees and loan interest repayments.
He recently started to feel tired and was diagnosed with liver cancer. Her relatives contributed money to help him get surgery. However, four days after the operation, he suffered an infection, causing serious pain.
Tam’s children have been sent to the local social welfare centres to be taken care of.
Nguyen Cong Ngh from Nghi Kieu Commune said Tam’s family was facing difficulties but local residents could only provide modest support.
