Lots of old worship statues were left under the Long Bien Bridge. It is said that those old worship items were left when local people replaced them in new homes. Vietnamese people believe that leaving old worship items at rivers and lakes will make their ancestors feel settled.

The same scene can be seen at the West Lake when the water level falls, revealing thousands of pieces of broken ceramic incense bowls.

The dumps have seriously affected the scenery of one of the most famous tourist sites in the city.

Lots of used worship items were thrown to the West Lake's section near Tran Quoc Pagoda.

Many other kinds of rubbish can be seen on the lake section along Tu Hoa Street.
