The provincial coast guards caught the boat red-handed on June 25 in the area some 60 nautical miles southeast of Vanguard Bank.

At that time, there were four people on board. Captain Huynh Tuan Kiet, 38, from the central province of Quang Ngai failed to show papers indicating their point of origin.
The case has been handed over to the High Command of Coast Guard Region 3 for investigation.
In March, local authorities of the southern province of Tien Giang also found a fishing boat illegally carrying 60,000 litres of diesel.
