According to Nguyen Xuan Man, head of the forest management board of Loc Ha District, the python was found by a household in Ho Do Commune when it was attempting to eat one of their chickens. The household quickly reported the case to the board.

After being captured, the python was given to Vu Quang National Park to be released into the wild.
Last month, a 40-kilo python was also found by a family in Ky Anh District, Ha Tinh Province. It was then taken to Vu Quang National Park to be released.
