Lake at Hanoi Botanical Gardens dries up

A lake at the Botanical Gardens in Hanoi has dried up due to the prolonged hot weather.

The Botanical Gardens located in Ba Dinh District are a well-known park in the capital. The grounds often attract many visitors.

 

The water level at the lake in the garden recently declined, exposing the bed and leaving boats stranded. 

 

Some parts of the lakebed have faced cracks and fissures.

Many trees in the park, including century-old ones, seem to be dying. Some entertainment areas have been locked to ensure safety.

Hoai from Ba Dinh District said that she often does morning exercises in the park. The dry lakebed has been happening for around one month. Environmental workers have collected dead fish.
