The money and jewellery stolen

Initial investigations showed that the robbery was done by a group of three South Koreans who were staying at a hotel on Ly Tu Trong Street in District 1.

At the police station, the three including Wang Lee Hyang, 66, Gim Chang Duok, 72, and Heo Seong Hyun, 48, admitted that they broke into the house in District 7 on the evening of May 19 when there was nobody inside.

Heo Seong Hyun climbed into the house first and broke the glass door with a hammer while Wang Lee Hyang and Gim Chang Duok guarded outside.

After Heo Seong Hyun came into the house, he found a safe and managed to break it with the hammer. He called Gim Chang Duok and the two took all the money and jewellery in their bag and fled to a hotel in District 1. As the three were dividing the loot and preparing to fly back to South Korea, police appeared and detained them.
