According to the National Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting, on May 2-3, some areas in the northeastern region and the central provinces from Thanh Hoa to Thua-Thien Hue would see hot weather. On May 4-7, the hot weather will expand in these regions.

From the second half of May, the temperature in northern and central localities would be 0.5-1 degree centigrade higher than the same period of previous years.

The National Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting has warned that this year, the number of warm days tends to increase in the northern and north-central regions compared to the average of the previous years in the same period.

Meteorologists have also warned of a high risk of fires and explosions in residential areas and production workshops due to high demand for electricity, as well as a high risk of forest fires.

There would be 10-30 percent chance of rainfall in the north in May, lower than the same period in previous years. Meanwhile, it would be 5-15 percent higher in central localities from Thanh Hoa to Thua Thien-Hue.
