HCM City is willing to reactivate Field Hospital 13 if serious Covid-19 cases increase, said municipal Department of Health Director Tang Chi Thuong.
Covid-19 patients in HCM City have started rising again since early April. The figure has been forecasted to keep increasing in the coming time.
According to the HCM City Centre for Disease Control, between 4 pm on April 26 and 4 pm on April 27, HCM City recorded 298 new Covid-19 infections, including 88 hospitalised.
The city’s Department of Health has urged localities to be ready to respond to Covid-29 outbreak risks, particularly after Reunification Day (30/4) and International Labour Day (May 1). The city will reopen Field Hospital 13 if the number of Covid-19 patients continues to rise. The HCM City Hospital for Tropical Diseases has around 50 serious cases.
“We’ll reactivate Field Hospital 13 if Covid-19 patients who have severe symptoms increase to avoid the overloading which happened in the past,” Thuong added.
Binh Chanh District’s General Hospital opened a satellite clinic at Vinh Loc Commune Health Station to help provide medical check-ups for people. The commune is among the highest populated areas in HCM City.
