The event will take place from April 28 to May 1 in Cao Lanh City’s Van Mieu Square.

The magoes in Dong Thap
On Wednesday afternoon, the provincial people’s committee held a press conference on the festival.
Nguyen Phuoc Thien, vice chairman of the committee, said that after the Covid-19 pandemic, many localities have faced difficulties in agricultural development, including Dong Thap. The mango festival is among activities to promote the local speciality and tourism.
Mangos are one of five key items in Dong Thap’s agricultural restructuring. Dong Thap tops the Mekong Delta region with 14,000 hectares of mango plantations with a total annual output of 137,000 tonnes. This will also help to connect investors who are interested in mango processing and export.
Many activities are scheduled to be held at the festival, including a virtual reality exhibition, exhibitions of mango products and other local specialities, trade fairs and a display of agricultural equipment, and application of science and technology for the mango industry.
The province will hold a workshop on the value and sustainable development of the mango industry and the launch of the Dong Thap Mango Association as part of the festival.
Dong Thap previously organised festivals on lotus and cat fish.
