However, the foggy weather prevented two flights from landing at Noi Bai Airport, one operated by budget airline VietJet Air and the other by Bamboo Airways.

VietJet Air Flight QH146 travelled from HCM City to Hanoi and was diverted to land at Cat Bi International Airport in Haiphong City. Meanwhile, Bamboo Airways Flight QH146 which was slated to land at Noi Bai International Airport was forced to return to Danang to land.

Flight diversions at Noi Bai because of weather conditions have significantly decreased compared to the past, thanks to investment in renovating and repairing two runways and some other facilities to ensure flight safety.

On Tuesday, Bamboo Airways also suspended some flights due to the weather.

The National Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting said the northern region would face light rain and fog with high humidity on April 11-13. The unfavourable weather caused low visibility for flights.
