The incident happened on Prenn Pass in Ward 3 on Sunday afternoon, affecting around three hectares of pine forest. The dry weather caused the flame to quickly spread.

Around 30 firefighters were sent to the scene, bringing the blaze under control several hours later.
The fire mostly occurred at the low level and in the forest floor, so it did not damage big trees.
Around 10 hectares of a pine forest also on Prenn Pass caught fire earlier on April 7. People several kilometres from the forest could also see the smoke.
