Four crew are missing from a barge that sunk due to strong winds off the coast of the southern central province of Binh Thuan.

At around 3 pm on Wednesday, Binh Thuan Ports Authority received the information from the captain of Barge LA-05923 that the barge had sunk because of violent winds when travelling in the vicinity of Phu Quy Island. At that time, there were four people on board.

The area where the barge faced the incident was around 17 nautical miles northwest of Phu Quy Island.

On the same day, another barge numbered LA 05923 from Long An Province with three crew on board was on the verge of being sunk by strong winds while being on the way to Phu Quy Island.

Luckily, a nearby coast guard ship helped the barge, saving the crew members who are now in stable condition.
