A strong cold spell is forecasted to hit the northern and northern central regions from February 24, according to the National Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting.

From February 24, the temperatures will sharply fall to between 13-16 degrees celsius in the northern region and some provinces from Thanh Hoa to Thua Thien Hue, and to between 10-13 degrees celsius in mountainous areas and there will be rains, the centre said.

The cold spell is forecasted to last several days.
