The children, Le Tuan Anh, 13, and his twin sister Le Thuy Chi and Le Thuy Na, 6, from Thai Hoa Town’s Nghia Thuan Commune, are taking care of their 34-year-old father Le Van Xuan who is on the verge of death.

At around 9 pm on February 15, while driving a motorbike in Ba Co Ara in Nghia Thuan Commune, the father was hit by a truck that was running in the opposite direction. He lost consciousness and was taken to a nearby hospital by some local residents. He was diagnosed with traumatic brain injury and internal organ trauma.
Xuan is in a very critical condition, however, due to the family’s financial difficulties, he was sent home for failing to cover the treatment.
Dau Thi Bay, Xuan’s mother said that Xuan's wife left him and their children without saying a word five years ago. Since then, Xuan had to try his best to take care of his children. Besides the farming work, he works daily for construction sites for a modest income.
