Thousands of households in HCM City have water supply disrupted

Saigon Water Corporation will cut or reduce its service in five districts and several wards in Thu Duc City from late Saturday night to early Sunday morning to carry out maintenance.

Saigon Water Corporation (Sawaco), Ho Chi Minh City’s water supplier, will cut or reduce its service in five districts and several wards in Thu Duc City from late Saturday night to early Sunday morning to carry out maintenance.

The water cut will affect thousands of households in Thu Duc City and five districts of 7, 8, Binh Chanh, Nha Be, and Can Gio.

The maintenance will take place in three hours between 11 pm on Saturday and 2 am on Sunday, during which pumps to the entirety of districts 7, Nha Be, and Can Gio will be completely closed, the company said.

Meanwhile, some other localities including districts 8, Binh Chanh, and Thu Duc City will also see their water off in some wards.

Sawaco said the firm will arrange tank trucks to ensure water supply for key areas during the outage.

Thu Duc Water Plant started operation in 2010 with a total investment of VND 1.60 trillion, supplying water for nearly a million residents in some districts in the south and east of Ho Chi Minh.
