The ban will be applied from 12-4 am as inspection work is being carried out on the bridge.

The work is estimated to last until February 20 in this direction.

From February 21-22, traffic will be banned in the opposite direction of the bridge from Noi Bai Airport to Vo Chi Cong Street when the inspection work is carried out.

A representative from the Hanoi Transport Department said that the inspection results would be announced in two months.

This is the first inspection conducted on the 8.93 km Nhat Tan Bridge, the seventh and the longest bridge spanning the Red River after eight years of operation.

Built with cutting-edge Japanese technology, the bridge, which is 33.2 metres wide for six lanes of traffic and two emergency halting lanes, is one of a very small number of bridges having the largest number of suspension spans in the world. The travel time by car from the bridge to the Noi Bai Airport is only 15 minutes.
