Receiving the donations, My sent her sincere thanks to the newspaper and kind donors.

"With this money, we can get treatment for my daughter," she said. "As scheduled, she will return to the hospital on February 21 for re-check. But she suddenly felt lots of pain with swollen eyes and head on January 30 so we had to take her to the hospital."

My and her daughter

According to the father, his daughter Ho Thi Tuong Vy was diagnosed with retinoblastoma in her left eye in 2017 when she was just 13 months old.

After that, the little girl had to undergo a surgery to remove her left eye to prevent the cancel stems from attacking other organs.

Following the surgery, the treatment continued until May 2018.

However, in August 2019, Vy’s right eye also faced the same symptoms. A big tumour was then detected, resulting in necrosis.

Vy once again contracted retinoblastoma, therefore, she experienced a surgery for her right eye removal. She afterwards faced chemotherapy treatment until April 2020.

By late 2021, Mung met with a traffic accident, causing him injuries. My had to seek to borrow money from different sources to cover treatment for her husband.

At that time, Vy’s eye sockets became swollen again due to being attacked by cancer cells. She then continued using the chemotherapy treatment.

According to doctors, Vy would need more treatment. However, the couple had incurred an enormous debt. They also do not know where to borrow money for their daughter’s treatment.
