Watermelons are among Vietnam's key exports to China

Dragon fruits, bananas, watermelons, and jackfruits were the major products exported to China, said the Lao Cai Border Gate Management Board. In January alone, the customs clearance procedures were carried out for nearly 600 dragon fruit trucks at Lao Cai’s border gates for export to China.

In January, trade value between Vietnam and China through Lang Son’s border gates grew 150 percent on-year to USD100 million.

Five border gates in Lang Son received around 1,200 vehicles per day with 75 percent transporting farm produce.

Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Phung Duc Tien said that China’s border reopening and the signing of the protocol between the two countries on the export of certain farm produce had helped to boost trade value.
