Representatives from the Binh Duong Provincial Confederation of Labour and the provincial people’s committee arrived at Di An Train Station on Friday morning to see off the workers and to give them Tet gifts and lucky money.
Binh Duong Provincial Party Committee Deputy Secretary Nguyen Hoang Thao, and Vice Chairman of the province people's committee, Mai Hung Dung were present at the station to give gifts.

Speaking at the event, Binh Duong Provincial Confederation of Labour Vice Chairman Nguyen Dinh Khanh, said that the 5,000 train tickets had been offered to workers that faced economic difficulties and had not been able to return home for a long time.
"Besides offering the train tickets, we've also visited and presented gifts to workers who will stay here during the Tet Holiday," the official said.

Le Thi An was one of the workers who received a free ticket. An comes from the northern province of Ninh Binh and hadn't returned home for the last five years due to financial issues.
"I'm very moved to have been given the ticket and gifts from the local authorities," she said. "I'm longing to be reunited with my family after such a long time."
Earlier on January 12, nearly 500 workers in some southern localities of Binh Duong, Long An, Dong Nai, and HCM City were also offered free flights to return home to Nghe An and Thanh Hoa for the Tet Holiday.
Many workers in Vietnam, including those in the southern region, were laid off as their firms saw a fall in orders in 2022. It is forecasted that difficulties will continue this year due to the global economic downturn and rising inflation in some of Vietnam's key export markets.
