HCM City’s Tan Son Nhat Airport in is expected to serve up to 130,000 passengers a day from domestic flights during the Tet Lunar New Year peak travel period.

January 20 with 123,000 passengers and January 29 with over 144,000 passengers are likely to be the busiest days according to the airport.
There will be about 27,000 flights with 3.8 million passengers using Tan Son Nhat Airport during the holiday, an increase of over 10 percent compared to pre-Covid 2019.
Authorities at Tan Son Nhat have increased security measures during this period.
The airport has adjusted flight frequencies from January 6 to February 5 to serve the rising number of flights. There will be 44 flights taking off and landing per hour between 6 am and midnight daily and 36 flights per hour between 12 am - 6 am. This hourly flight total breaks the previous record 40 flights per hour.
Airport authorities have also co-operated with taxi companies to increase the number of services available during this time.
The 2023 Tet Lunar New Year holiday will run between January 20-26.
