Lying in Hai Ba Trung District, this is the fourth pedestrianised street so far opened in the capital. Three other pedestrian zones in the city include the Hoan Kiem Lake area, Trinh Cong Son Street, and Son Tay Citadel area.
The new pedestrian zone encompassing parts of Tran Nhan Tong Street and Quang Trung Street and the surrounding areas, together with Thong Nhat Park, forms a large walking area of about 109,300 square metres.
The pedestrian street will be open on weekends and holidays.
Many entertainments, cultural activities, and traditional games were held during the opening event.
Visitors can also buy souvenirs and enjoy Hanoi food specialities.
