Bac Giang plans to build 13 golf courses

Under the prime minister’s approval, Bac Giang will be an industrial province and listed among 15 cities and provinces with the highest gross regional domestic product. Golf courses are intended to spur tourism development.

According to Thai, most of the 13 planned golf courses are located in the provincial key economic areas and tourist sites.

The largest golf course which covers 189.95 hectares will be built in Tien Phong Commune in Yen Dung District, followed by two 180-hectare golf courses in Yen The District and Son Dong District. The other ones will have an area of from 75.38 to 150 hectares.

Thai added that Bac Giang will use mountainous land for building golf courses, not agricultural land. Currently, around 30,000 foreign experts are working in Bac Giang and its neighbouring province of Bac Ninh.

Vietnam now has around 80 golf courses. He noted that the golf course development could help generate more jobs for people. Each golf course may employ 500 people.

Located in the Lang Son-Hanoi-Hai Phong-Quang Ninh economic corridor and bestowed with stunning natural landscapes like Tay Yen Tu Natural Reserve, Khe Ro primaeval forest, Dong Cao plateau, and Khuon Than lake, Bac Giang Province has huge tourism potential.
