Vu Duc Hoai, 44, from Vinh City’s Hung Chinh Commune said that his wife Thai Thi Diem, 32, was diagnosed with the disease when she was pregnant with their second child. Doctors advised her to have an early birth to ensure the safety of both her and her child.
Diem has been diagnosed with kidney failure
During the long treatment, Hoai sold all the family’s valuables to cover Diem’s treatment. Now, Diem is being treated at a hospital in Nghe An.
Besides taking care of Diem at the hospital, Hoai had to work on construction sites with a very modest income.
Another shock hit the family when the couple’s 10-year-old son Vu Duc Hoang drowned. This has worsened Diem’s condition and her heart failure has also become more serious since then.

According to doctors, she needs a costly kidney transplant and the family can't afford the operation.
