Dantri/DTiNews readers had donated VD135 million (USD5,443) for people in the central province of Nghe An’s Ky Son District after a recent severe flash flood.

The money has been granted to dozens of households in Ta Ca Commune and Muong Xen Town.

The donation was granted to people in Ky Son


The flash flood that occurred on October 2, killed a four-month-old child and damaged hundreds of houses. Total losses were estimated at around VND200 billion (USD8.06 million).

Earlier, on October 5, Editor-in-chief of the newspaper Pham Tuan Anh decided to donate VND45 million to 14 local households.

Ky Son has been severely damaged by the flash flood


Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc, a teacher from Ta Ca Nursery School, remained shocked by the flood as her entire house was swept away following the heavy rain on October 1-2. Her family’s farm with 500 chickens was also ruined. 

Vi Thi Quyen, vice chairwoman of Ky Son District People’s Committee, expressed her great thanks to the community for the support.
