A tropical low-pressure front has been forecasted to affect the East Sea from Friday evening, including the Paracel Islands.
At around 1 pm on October 21, the centre of the tropical low-pressure area was around 230 kilometres to the east-northeast of the Philippines’ Luzon Islands with a wind speed of 39-49 km per hour.
In the next 24 hours, it will mostly move towards the west.
By 1 pm on Sunday, the tropical low-pressure front would be 370 kilometres from the north of Paracel Islands.
Due to the tropical low-pressure front's impacts, the north of the East Sea’s east would have strong wind and rough seas. Waves would be 3-5 metres high.
Meanwhile, some localities in the central region of Vietnam would face heavy rain from Friday evening to Sunday morning. Particularly, localities from Ha Tinh to Quang Ngai provinces would witness a rainfall of 70-150mm.
Landslides and flash floods have also been warned for low and mountainous areas.
