The Hanoi-HCM City route has been ranked fourth among the world's top ten busiest domestic air routes over the past year.
The survey, conducted by the aviation research market firm OAG Aviation Worldwide, was based on the number of air tickets sold between October 2021 and September this year.
According to the survey, nine of the ten busiest domestic air routes are in the Asia Pacific. Around 8.56 million tickets on the Hanoi-HCM City air route were sold between October 2021 and September this year.
The busiest air route was Jeju-Seoul with 16.06 million tickets sold, followed by Sapporo-Tokyo with 10.21 million tickets and Fukuoka-Tokyo with 9.89 million tickets.
Others on the list are the Jeddah-Riyadh route, Melbourne-Sydney, Mumbai-Delhi, Tokyo-Okinawa, Jakarta-Bali and Beijing-Shanghai.
The Hanoi-HCM City route was also voted among the sixth busiest domestic air routes in 2019.
