According to the ministry's report, the national caseload has so far increased to 11,483,529.

On October 5, an additional 5, 858 more patients recovered from the disease, raising the number of recoveries in the country to nearly 10.59 million.

On Wednesday evening, two deaths from Covid-19 were recorded, raising the country's total fatalities to 43,151, accounting for 0.4 per cent of total infections.

By October 5, the country had injected over 260 million doses of Covid-19 vaccines.

The Ministry of Health has asked localities nationwide to vaccinate children aged between six months old to five years old against Covid-19.

According to the ministry, to date, over 260 million doses of Covid-19 vaccine have been used for people aged from five years old. Around 60 percent of children aged between five to 12 years old have been given a second Covid-19 vaccine shot. The rate is as high as 75 percent for people aged 12 years old and above.
