Passengers wait to use the Cat Linh-Ha Dong metro service

According to the company's report, the city's first metro route served an average of over 18,300 passengers daily. Some 54 percent of the passengers use monthly passes. It made over VND 46 billion (USD2 million) in revenue during the first 10 months.

The number of passengers have risen in recent months.

The line was officially inaugurated on January 13 this year after 10 years of construction with a total investment of over USD868 million from China’s official development assistance.

The elevated line is more than 13km long and has 12 stations and 13 trains.

Trains run every 10 minutes with a capacity of 960 passengers per train. One-way tickets cost between VND 8,000-15,000 for a trip and VND30,000 for a day pass. A monthly pass is priced at VND 200,000.
