Workers at the factory
The new factory was built in accordance with high Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) standards and was granted the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environment Design) gold certification. By using solar energy and advanced design features, the factory can reduce around 1600 tonnes of CO2 emissions per year.
Speaking at the ceremony, ambassador of Denmark in Vietnam Nicolai Prytz said that the project is another strong testament to the increasing Danish investments in Vietnam.
"It also shows how important the Government of Vietnam’s strong commitment to carbon reduction is in order to attract quality investments in Vietnam," he said. "These investments in sustainable production require green energy supply for operating."
Denmark is now one of the biggest European investors in Vietnam. With the coming visit of the Royal Crown Couple of Denmark and a business delegation of 36 companies in early November, it is expected that more Danish investment deals, especially in the energy sector, will be finalized in the coming years.
