Vu Thi Huong from Dong Hung District’s Minh Hung Commune is taking care of her four-year-old daughter, Anh Duong, who is staying at the Vietnam National Children’s Hospital in Hanoi for treatment.
The child’s condition is worsening. She feels more pain and cries very much.

According to Huong, initially, her daughter experienced a long high fever. Doctors at a local hospital advised her to take her child to Hanoi because of her serious condition. Then she was diagnosed, meaning she had to take chemotherapy.
Since Anh Duong was ill, Huong has had to give up her job to look after her. Meanwhile, Huong’s mother is facing mental problems.
Anh Duong’s father who works for a construction site only earns a small monthly income.
Pham Minh Tuan, chairman of Minh Phu Commune, said that Huong’s family was facing many difficulties. Her mother with mental issues now has to stay at home alone. Huong often calls her neighbours to keep an eye on her mother.
Local residents have supported her, but their contribution was very modest.
At present, Huong has borrowed hundreds of millions of VND to cover her daughter’s treatment.
