Construction on the Nhon-Hanoi Station metro project was started in October 2010, but has not yet been completed. Hanoi authorities have proposed extending the deadline again for the whole Nhon-Hanoi Station metro route until 2027.

The slow pace has been attributed to site clearance and compensation, and the readjustments of initial designs and technical requirements.

Work on Station 12 on Tran Hung Dao Street has been suspended. The site is full of wild grass and piles of construction materials.

Iron fences are being used to surround the site, affecting traffic on Tran Hung Dao Street.

The same situation is seen at Station 11 which is near the Temple of Literature.

Grass up to 2-3 metres high appear at the project’s section running through Kim Ma Street.

Machines and construction materials on an underground section on Lieu Giai Street have been covered with canvas since the work halted.

Many metal materials have deteriorated due to the effects of the weather.

Traffic on Kim Ma Street has been plagued by the sluggish pace of the project, particularly at peak hours. Some houses near the site have also faced subsidence.
