Cho Ray Hospital’s Tropical Diseases Ward received 41 Covid-19 patients in August after none between May to July.

Among the 41 patients, 21 are in critical conditions with most of them contracting underlying medical issues. Every day, between 3-4 cases have to use ventilators.

The HCM City Children's Hospital 2 has also witnessed an increase in children infected with Covid-19 over the past two months.

Since mid-July, the number of Covid-19 patients taken to the HCM City Hospital for Tropical Diseases has increased. Most of them have faced serious symptoms, including those who had to use ventilators and dialysis.

According to the HCM City Department of Health, from August 19-25, the city recorded 1,114 Covid-19 cases, up 258 against the previous week, including 78 being in critical condition.

The Ministry of Health said that the country logged nearly 3,878 Covid-19 cases on September 7, the highest over the past four months.
