According to the ministry's report, the national caseload has so far increased to 11,424,754.

On September 6, an additional 5,690 more patients recovered from the disease, raising the number of recoveries in the country to over 10.23 million.

On Tuesday evening, one death from Covid-19 was recorded, raising the country's total fatalities to 43,123, accounting for 0.4 per cent of total infections.

By September 6, the country had injected over 257 million doses of Covid-19 vaccines.

The People's Committee of Hanoi has asked local districts and towns to speed up Covid-19 vaccination to deal with the current spike of new cases.

Ho Chi Minh City officials are also working on increasing the relatively low Covid-19 vaccination rate among children.
