The Border Guard Command of Ba Ria-Vung Tau province receives eight people of Myanmar nationality who were rescued while drifting at sea by the Panamanian-flagged ship Trump SW.

According to the command, at 8 pm on August 26, they were notified by the Trump SW that they had seen eight people drifting off the coast of Ba Ria-Vung Tau when travelling from China to Indonesia.

The crew took the eight people in distress onboard and provided medical care and first aid for them. They then informed the Border Guard Command of Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province of the incident.


"We have sent a team to transport the eight people who are of Myanmar nationality ashore," the command said. "We've also carried out immigration procedures so that they can stay while awaiting further investigations."
