Bus station for HCM City airport proposed

The HCM City Department of Transport’s Transport Public Management Centre has proposed building a 1,476 square metre bus station at Gia Dinh Park to help ease congestion at Tan Son Nhat International Airport.

According to the centre, Tan Son Nhat International Airport is suffering major traffic jams and taxis cannot serve passengers.

The centre added that it was necessary to add more routes linked to the airport, which would require the construction of a bus station. The proposed land plot at Gia Dinh Park is now being managed by the municipal Department of Construction.

At its peak this summer, the airport served around 700 flights per day with a total of roughly 130,000 passengers. At present, the figure is around 660 flights.
