According to the park, the 17 animals were two Paradoxurus hermaphroditus civets, one Paguma larvata masked palm civet, three Macaca mulatta monkeys, one Macaca arctoides monkey, three Macaca leonina monkeys, three Cuora galbinifrons turtles, three Cuora bourreti turtles, and one Cuora mouhotii turtle.
These are all rare animals that face extinction, the park said. They were recently handed over to the park by local people and had been properly taken care of and received health check-ups before being released back to the wild.
The animals have well adapted to the natural environment at Phong Nha-Ke Bang Park after being released, the park said.
