The event was held to mark the War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27).

Flowers and national flags were also placed on each grave.

Relatives of the dead also arrived to offer incense to their dead family members. Tran Thi Thanh Ha came to offer incense to her late father Tran Ngoc Phan.
