The incident occurred at around 5:30 pm on Friday when the boy was at his grandmother’s house in Dong Tien Commune, Dong Phu District. At that time, the grandmother was sitting in a hammock and the boy was playing near the dog. Despite being tied, the 30-kilo animal suddenly jumped into the child and bit him repeatedly.

After hearing the boy’s screams for help, his relatives rushed to the scene and took him to hospital. But due to severe injuries, he died before arrival.
The dog belongs to his grandmother’s neighbour who was away from home so the grandmother had taken it home during her neighbour’s absence.
