According to the initial information, Miwon Vietnam hired an environmental firm to clean a manhole. During the work, two environmental workers began suffocating and called for help.
The injured worker is being treated at hospital
Three nearby Miwon workers came and jumped into the manhole to help rescue the workers. However, all five lost consciousness. The victims are aged between 38, 42, and 59 years old.
Despite the rescue services being sent quickly, four people died before being hospitalised, while another remained injured. The injured survivor has escaped critical condition.
Miwon Vietnam specialises in producing different kinds of seasoning, including glutamate and sauces.Local authorities are further investigating the accident.
Ho Dai Dung, vice chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, local authorities visited the victims’ families and provided VND10-20 million to each.
