The incident happened at around 7:30 am on Thursday in Nho Quan District’s Thach Binh Commune. The victims, one aged 37 and the other 34, are both from a local toy company.
According to Vu Dung, chairman of Thach Binh District People’s Committee, the two experienced the accident while riding a motorbike to work. Meanwhile, another nearby woman also fainted due to being struck by lightning. Around one hour later, she recovered.
Local authorities have supported VND2 million for each victim’s family to hold a funeral.
On the same day, the lightning strike also left a 59-year-old woman in the northern province of Thai Binh dead, while she was working in a field.
Six people in Thai Binh died of lightning strikes over the past two months.
