Nguyen Thi Han, 30, suffers from arthritis so can’t do hard work.
She moved to work in HCM City when she was 17 years old.

She then got married and gave birth to a son named Nguyen Chi Thien in 2015. The couple divorced when Thien was three years old.
Han after that left her child at home with her parents and returned to HCM City to earn money.
Besides her usual work, she tried to do part-time jobs to earn more.
With a modest income of VND8 million (USD344.82) per month, she sends VND6 million home to her parents and child.
Tragedy struck when her son was diagnosed with leukemia in early February this year after suffering a fever and cough. She was extremely shocked to hear of the news.
Since then, she can only work for around 15 days per month, while she spends the remaining time looking after her son.
Chi Thien experienced anaphylaxis for the first time when taking chemotherapy, causing him to faint and use an oxygen respirator for two hours.
According to doctors, Chi Thien’s condition could be much improved if being treated properly. However, the treatment fees are quite costly.
Now, Han does not know how to have money to take her son to hospital in the coming time.
Nguyen Van Trang, head of Giong Nau Village, said that Han’s family is among the poorest in the locality. He hoped that the public could help.
