According to the ministry's report, most of the new patients are locally-transmitted cases confirmed in 38 out of 63 localities in the country with some localities seeing the highest numbers including Hanoi (162), Danang (47), Yen Bai (42), Phu Tho (39), and Quang Ninh (31). The southern province of An Giang added 986 more cases to the national tally after verifying information.

As of Friday evening, the number of Covid-19 patients in Vietnam has increased to over 10.74 million.

On June 24, an additional 9,351 more patients recovered from the disease, raising the number of recoveries in the country to over 9.63 million.

On Friday evening, no deaths related to Covid-19 were announced. Total fatalities stayed at 43,084, accounting for 0.4 per cent of total infections.

By June 23, the country had injected more than 228 million doses of Covid-19 vaccines, including over 6.69 million given to children aged 5 to 11.
